In theory, the Liberator Mk.VI designation applied to early-production B-24Js fitted with the Consolidated nose turret. In practice, however, it was applied to a variety of B-24Gs. B-24Hs, and B-24Js, many of which were fitted with the Emerson nose turret. Additionally, many had their tail turrets replaced with a four-gun Bolton-Paul turrets. Later, many had the Bolton-Paul turrets removed and the original turrets restored. Check references, then refer to the corresponding American designation.
